Not so quick get-a-way

Me and my mom planned this quick weekend get-a-way about a month ago. The plan was to fly up to Salt lake, watch Brooklynn dance, watch the BYU dancers, fly back, be home in time to drive down to Havasu to Josh's race. Ya.......thanks to the weather and Southwest it didn't run as smoothly as planned. We got to the airport about an hour before our flight Thursday night, looked for our flight on the board and it said delayed til 11:30!! Are you kidding me?! We were supposed to leave at 8:15!! Its not like we can just run home and come back, so...we hung out at the airport for 5 hours!!! I watched all the tv shows I had on my ipod, read a little, finally we got so bored we bought dice for $8! Played farkel for an hour or so then we finally left Vegas at 12:30! So we slept in the next day, did a little shopping, and went to 7 brides for 7 brothers at this little hole in the wall place. But it was good! It was alot of fun! The next day we did a little more shopping ;) went to watch the BYU ballroom dance co. Brooklynns group danced in the pre-show and they did really good! So fun!! The BYU dancers were awesome! It was seriously SO COOL!! Their costumes were amazing! and modest! (see Dancing With the Stars..It can be done!) I loved it! We were supposed to fly out at 8 that night......We wised up and checked our flight status BEFORE we went to the airport..and..delayed..again!! So went went back and watched half of the BYU dancers 2nd show(yes. it was that good!) We ended up getting home at 1 am...so we didn't really feel like getting up and driving down to Havasu, which I was really bummed about because I like going to that track, but he won! so that was good!

It still was a really fun(girly)weekend! I'm so lucky to have my mom and my sisters! And NO I don't MAKE my husband go to all these girly things(twilight, musicals, etc...) Your welcome hun! :) Oh.. except for Wicked. I forgot about that..That was different. I didn't have anybody to go with! And I know you loved it ;D

Why are these so good?!

I am not a huge candy-eater. My idea of a treat is a bag of chips and a pepsi(fat..i know) But every year I get so addicted to these! I have already gone through a couple of bags this year!(not by myself ;)) Why are they so much better than a regular ol reese's peanut butter cup? I have no idea! But they are!!! I'm actually eating one right now! Straight from the freezer! MMMMmmmmm!!!

Texas/Louisiana

We extended our Presidents day weekend a little bit and headed down south to see these guys!!!

We had so much fun! Its was SO good to see them...We really, really, really miss them!!
We flew into Austin so we could go here!

It was really cool! There were no Lance spottings though(we looked!! and of course we told Josh there was!) Ian could have stayed all day...but we had a little bit of a drive to get to Louisaina, so we had to drag him out kicking and screaming. jk!

Sunday we went to church and then down to Holly beach! I love the ocean! The water looked really gross, but I love to be on the beach and listen to the waves! :) We got to see where Chase works(well, where he flies out of) We were supposed to go for a helicopter ride.... but there were never any free helicopters. :( Next time!!

We collected lots of neat seashells! (which we left in LA! oops!)

I had to post these pictures....I think we have more pictures of Chase in the background than without! Not just from this trip, thats how its always been! Our pictures would not be complete without Chase somewhere in them! Kinda like wheres Waldo....except he's not hard to spot! gotta love him!!

Monday we just hung out and toured around where they live. It was mardi gras and the Saints had just won the super bowl! So everywhere you looked it was pretty festive. Who dat! on every sign! seriously!
Tuesday we had to head home...sad day. But we will return! They have to come out here first though!;D
We had a GREAT trip! TONS of fun! We love you guys! Can't wait to see ya soon!

Congrats Ross and Kam!

This past weekend Ians Bro Ross got hitched! It was a whirlwind of a weekend but such a good one!
Friday after work Ian and I went up and hung out with Ross and spent the night. Then Saturday morning went to the sealing. It was so nice! I LOVE to go to sealings! Then we took some pictures outside the temple before it started raining!! Went to the Bell Tower(?) for the luncheon. It was such a nice place! So pretty and the food was good too! Then we took the happy couple to the airport and sent them on their honeymoon!
We are so happy for them! They make such a good couple and are so fun!!
By the way....the bride looked beautiful!! and I guess Ross didn't look too bad either! ;)

Just some pics to go along with my last post. I didn't have as many as I thought I did so..... this is just New Moon girls night out, Temple square Christmas lights, and the boys at Moapa peak! :)

Where to start.....

I'm a little behind(as usual) So i'll just summarize the rest of our 2009! :) (I don't have any pics at the moment, but i'll try to put some on asap! Isn't that all people look at? No one actually reads all this, right?? haha)
Ok.. lets see... NEW MOON! Was awesome! The girls talked me into going to the midnight show, AND I actually stayed awake the whole time!! Amazing! We had a great time-went to playoffs first, danced on the bar(jk of course! ;)) All 10 of us got to sit together in the theatre, the movie was great! Jacob took his shirt off alot- its was a great night! Tons of fun!!

Next. Thanksgiving! Chase and Melissa got to come out for a couple weeks! Had a great time with them! I had to take Melissa to see New Moon. :) So the boys went on a MTB ride. We did Thanksgiving with the Strattons. The food is always GREAT! We had lots of fun! Played a couple games(thanks Em!)

Next. Ian's birthday! I've always done a big party for him...had everyone over for dinner, cake, everything. And he always says.. we don't need to have a party or do anything for my birthday. So this year I was like fine! If he doesn't care, I'm not going to stress about it! And it was on a monday...Lame! Mondays are my late nights, so we just went to dinner(China buffet -Ians favorite!) And came home. Then his fam came up and I didn't have a cake or anything- I felt bad! They probably think I'm a dirty husband birthday hater! (but i'm not)

Next. CHRISTMAS! I LOVE Christmas!! This year Wendy and Brandon came down(and the kids) And Chase and Melissa got to come out again! So It was tons of fun to have everyone there.
We didn't do a whole lot, just hung out, ate alot, enjoyed everyones company! Christmas is always kinda crazy, especially with both of our families so close. We're always runnin back and forth! But Fun!!

Next. We went up to the Butlers a couple days after Christmas. Went to see the lights at temple square, did some shoppin, ate some more, had cake for my birthday! I tried to cancel my birthday, but my sis told me I still get older whether I celebrate it or not! We actually had to drive home on my birthday because I had to work the next day and Ian had a camp out. It snowed the whole way!! And the roads were bad! So it was a long day of driving!! But we made it home safely :)

Next. New years! We had(got) to go to the stake youth dance! It was actually pretty fun! I made it to midnight!! And we danced! I couldn't show off any of my moves though :( I didn't want to get kicked out! ;D

What else... Oh! Ross and Mason got engaged!(not to eachother) So i'm looking forward to having some sis-in-laws on the Stratton side! We're super excited for them :)
